What We Believe
We, the Immanuel Myanmar Church (Chicagoland, Illinois), are a church established to unite Christians and families who have come from Myanmar to live here, so that together we may worship and glorify God.
Our faith is firmly rooted in accepting the Holy Bible as the supreme and final authority. We strongly believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; that He died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and on the third day rose again bodily from the dead. We proclaim that salvation is available by God's grace through faith alone.
Our purpose is to declare the boundless love of God and to share with everyone the great salvation that is available through Jesus Christ. We gather together in unity, strengthened by faith and hope.
These beliefs are written entirely on the basis of the Holy Scriptures. We, the members of this church, accept and practice them in unity, and by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, we continue to proclaim the Gospel and worship to exalt the glory of God.
What We Believe (Our Belief)
Statement of Faith
Immanuel Myanmar Church is committed to the historic, orthodox Christian faith as revealed in the Holy Scriptures. Below is a clear summary of our core beliefs:
1. The Holy Bible
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God, given by the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters of our faith and practice.

2. The One True God
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three co-equal and co-eternal Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit—one Godhead in Unity and in Trinity.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; John 10:30; Genesis 1:26; 1 Timothy 2:5; Matthew 3:16–17; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
3. The Deity of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is truly and fully God, the third Person of the Trinity.

4. The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ as fully God and fully man.
(Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:31–35)
5. The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became a human being, and lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for sinners, rose bodily from the dead on the third day, and ascended into heaven.

6. The Fall of Man
We believe that all human beings are sinful by nature because of Adam’s sin and as a result of Adam’s disobedience, and therefore, man is under the just condemnation of God and deserving of eternal death.

7. Salvation by Grace Through Faith
We believe that salvation is the free gift of God and is received by God’s grace through faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ, apart from any human works or merit.

8. The Eternal Security of the Believer
We believe that those who are truly saved are eternally secure in Christ and will be preserved for eternity.

9. The Blessed Hope – The Rapture of the Church
We believe that the rapture of the church will take place in a moment, when Christ comes in the air to take His own people, believers, to be with Him forever.

10. The Second Coming and Millennial Kingdom
We believe that Christ will return visibly and bodily to the earth as King of kings and Lord of lords to establish His righteous reign, judge the world, and rule for 1000 years.

11. The Lord’s Supper
We believe that the Lord’s Supper (Communion) is a memorial ordinance to be observed by true believers in remembrance of Christ’s death until He comes again.

12. Church Leadership and Governance
We believe that the local church is to be led by a pastor (elders), assisted by deacons and other mature leaders, under the headship of Christ and the authority of God’s Word.

13. The Nature of the Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, consisting of all true believers in Him, called to worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission.

14. The Resurrection at the Rapture
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all believers at Christ’s return to take His own—those who have died in Christ will be raised first, and living believers will be transformed and caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

15. The Final Judgments
We believe in two separate judgments: the Judgment Seat of Christ for believers (to evaluate rewards) and the Great White Throne Judgment for unbelievers (to determine eternal destiny).

16. Marriage and Human Sexuality
We believe that God’s design for marriage is a lifelong union of one man and one woman, and that human sexuality is a sacred gift to be expressed only within this covenant relationship.

17. The Sanctity of Human Life
We believe that human life is sacred from the moment of conception until natural death, and that every person is created in the image of God.

18. God’s Design for Gender and Identity
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female, and that rejecting one’s biological sex is a rejection of God’s good design and creative purpose.

19. The Great Commission
We believe that every believer is called to live a holy life that glorifies God and to proclaim the Gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ to all people.

These truths are the foundation of our faith, our teaching, and our life together as a church family. We gladly affirm them and invite all who share these convictions to join us in worship and service to our Lord Jesus Christ.

(၁) သန့်ရှင်းသောသမ္မာကျမ်းစာ
ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ဓမ္မဟောင်းနှင့် ဓမ္မသစ်ကျမ်း ၆၆ အုပ်ပါဝင်သော ကျမ်းစာသည် သန့်ရှင်းသောဝိညာဉ်တော်အားဖြင့် ဘုရားသခင်ထံမှ ဗျာဒိတ်ပေးခြင်း ခံရသော၊ လှုံ့ဆော်ခံရသော (inspired)၊ အမှားအယွင်းမရှိသော (inerrant)၊ လွဲချော်မှုမရှိသော (infallible) ဘုရားသခင်၏နှုတ်ကပတ်တော်ဖြစ်သည်ဟု ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။ ၎င်းသည် ကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ ယုံကြည်ခြင်းနှင့် ကျင့်သုံးမှု အားလုံးတွင် အမြင့်ဆုံးနှင့် နောက်ဆုံးအာဏာပိုင်ဖြစ်သည်။ (၂ တိမောသေ ၃:၁၆၊ ၂ ပေတရု ၁:၂၀-၂၁)
(၂) တစ်ဆူတည်းသော ဘုရားသခင်

(၃) သန့်ရှင်းသောဝိညာဉ်တော်၏ ဘုရားသခင်ဖြစ်တော်မူခြင်း
ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် သန့်ရှင်းသောဝိညာဉ်တော်သည် အမှန်တကယ်နှင့် အပြည့်အဝ ဘုရားသခင်ဖြစ်တော်မူကြောင်း၊ သုံးပါးတော်၏ တတိယပုဂ္ဂိုလ်ဖြစ်တော်မူကြောင်း ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။

(၄) ယေရှုခရစ်တော်၏ အပျိုစင်မာရိမှမွေးဖွားခြင်း
ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ယေရှုခရစ်၏ အပြည့်အဝဘုရားသခင်နှင့် အပြည့်အဝလူသားအဖြစ် အပျိုစင်မာရိမှ မွေးဖွားခြင်းကို ယုံကြည်ပါသည်။ (ဟေရှာယ ၇:၁၄၊ မဿဲ ၁:၁၈၊ လုကာ ၁:၃၁-၃၅)
(၅) ယေရှုခရစ်တော်၏ ပုဂ္ဂိုလ်တော်နှင့်အမှုတော်
ယေရှုခရစ်တော်သည် လူ့ဇာတိကိုခံယူလျက် အပြစ်သားများအတွက် အသေခံပြီး သုံးရက်မြောက်သောနေ့၌ တစ်ဖန် ထမြောက်ခဲ့သော ဘုရားသခင်၏သားတော်ဖြစ်သည်ဟု ကျွန်ပ်တို့ ယုံကြည်ပါသည်။ (မ ၁၆း၁၆၊ ယော ၉း၃၅၊ ယော ၁း၁၄၊ ၁ကော ၁၅:၃၊ ၁၂)။
(၆) လူသားများကျရှုံးခြင်း
ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် အာဒံ၏အပြစ်ကြောင့် လူသားအားလုံး သဘာဝအရ အပြစ်ရှိကြပြီး၊ အာဒံ၏ နာခံခြင်းမရှိမှုကြောင့် ဘုရားသခင်၏ တရားမျှတသော အပြစ်ဒဏ်ခံရမည့်သူများဖြစ်ကာ ထာဝရသေခြင်းကို ခံထိုက်ကြသည်ဟု ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။ (ရောမ ၃:၂၃၊ ၅:၁၂၊ ၁၉၊ ၆:၂၃)
(၇) ကျေးဇူးတော်ကြောင့် ယုံကြည်ခြင်းအားဖြင့်ကယ်တင်ခြင်း
ကယ်တင်ခြင်းသည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ လွတ်လပ်သောလက်ဆောင်ဖြစ်ပြီး၊ သခင်ယေရှုခရစ်တော်အား ယုံကြည်ခြင်းအားဖြင့်သာ ကျေးဇူးတော်ကြောင့် ကယ်တင်ခြင်းရမည်ဖြစ်ကာ လူ့လုပ်ရပ် သို့မဟုတ် ထိုက်တန်မှုများနှင့် လုံးဝကင်းကွာကြောင်း ကျွန်ပ်တို့ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။ (ဧဖက် ၂း၈-၉)။
(၈) ယုံကြည်သူ၏ ထာဝရလုံခြုံမှု
ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် စစ်မှန်စွာ ကယ်တင်ခြင်းခံရပြီးသူများသည် ခရစ်တော်ထဲ၌ ထာဝရလုံခြုံကြပြီး ထာဝရအတွက် ထိန်းသိမ်းခြင်း ခံရမည်ဟု ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။ (ဧ၊၁း၁၃၊ ဧ၊ ၄း၃၀ )
(၉) အသင်းတော်ကိုပြန်လည်သိမ်းဆည်းခြင်း
ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ခရစ်တော်သည် အာကာသသို့ ကြွလာတော်မူပြီး မိမိ၏လူများဖြစ်သော ယုံကြည်သူများကို ခဏအချိန်အတွင်း ချီဆောင်တော်မူမည်ဖြစ်ကာ ထိုအချိန်တွင် အသင်းတော်ကို ပြန်လည်သိမ်းယူခြင်း ဖြစ်ပျက်မည်ဟု ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။ ထို့နောက် သူနှင့်အတူ ထာဝရအတူစိုးစံရမည်။ (၁ ကောရိန္သု ၁၅:၅၂၊ ၁ သက်သာလောနိတ် ၄:၁၇)
(၁၀) ဒုတိယအကြိမ်ကြွလာခြင်းနှင့် အနှစ်တစ်ထောင်ကာလ
ခရစ်တော်သည် ဘုရင်တို့၏ ဘုရင်၊ သခင်များ၏ သခင်အဖြစ်ဖြင့် မြင်သာထင်သာ ရုပ်ခန္ဓာဖြင့် ဤမြေကြီးပေါ်သို့ ဒုတိယအကြိမ်ပြန်ကြွလာတော်မူမည်ဖြစ်ကာ ဖြောင့်မတ်သောနိုင်ငံတော်ကို တည်ထောင်တော်မူ၍ ကမ္ဘာကို တရားစီရင်တော်မူပြီး ၁၀၀၀ နှစ်တိုင်အောင် အုပ်ချုပ်တော်မူမည်ဟု ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။ (ဗျာဒိတ် ၁၉:၁၁-၁၆)
(၁၁) သခင်ဘုရား၏ညစာ
ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် သခင်ဘုရား၏ ညစာ (ပွဲတော်မင်္ဂလာ)သည် စစ်မှန်သော ယုံကြည်သူများက ခရစ်တော်၏ အသေခံတော်မူခြင်းကို အောက်မေ့သတိရသောအားဖြင့် ပြုလုပ်ရခြင်းဖြစ်ကြောင်း ယုံကြည်ပါသည်။ ခရစ်တော် ပြန်ကြွလာတော်မူသည်အထိ ပြုလုပ်ရန်ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ (၁ ကောရိန္သု ၁၁:၂၃-၂၉)
(၁၂) အသင်းတော်ခေါင်းဆောင်မှုနှင့် အုပ်ချုပ်ရေး
အသင်းတော်ကို သင်းအုပ်ကဦးဆောင်ပြီး အသင်းတော်လူကြီးများတို့နှင့်အတူ အမှု့ခပ်သိမ်းကို ဆွေးနွေးနှီးနှောကြသည်။ဘုရားသခင်၏ အုပ်စိုးမှုကို အစဉ်နာခံကြသည်။ ( ၁တိ၊ ၃း၁-၁၃ ၊ တိတု၊ ၁း၅-၉)
(၁၃) အသင်းတော်၏ သဘာဝ
အသင်းတော်သည် ခရစ်တော်၏ ကိုယ်ခန္ဓာ (body of Christ) ဖြစ်ပြီး၊ ခရစ်တော်ကို စစ်မှန်စွာ ယုံကြည်သူအားလုံးဖြင့် ဖွဲ့စည်းထားကြောင်း ကျွန်ပ်တို့ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။ အသင်းတော်သည် ကိုးကွယ်ခြင်း၊ အပြန်အလှန်ဆက်ဆံခြင်း (fellowship)၊ တပည့်တော်ဖြစ်လာရန် လေ့ကျင့်ခြင်း (discipleship) နှင့် သာသနာပြုခြင်း (mission) အတွက် ခေါ်တော်မူခြင်း ခံရသည်။
(၁၄) ချီဆောင်ခြင်းနှင့်ထမြောက်ခြင်း
ခရစ်တော်၌ အိပ်ပျော်သော(သေလွန်သော)သူရှိသမျှတို့သည် ထာဝရဘုန်း ဝင်စားခြင်းအဖို့အလို့ငှါ ခရစ်တော်၏တံပိုးမှုတ်သံ ကိုကြားရကြသောအခါ သန့်ရှင်းသော ခန္စာကိုယ်နှင့်အတူထမြောက်၍ အသက်ရှင်လျက် ကျန်ကြွင်း သောသူတို့နှင့်အတူ အာကာသကောင်းကင်တွင် တွေ့ဆုံခြင်းငှါ ထမြောက် ကြလိမ့် မည်။ (၁ ကောရိန္သု ၁၅:၅၀-၅၅၊ ၁ သက်သာလောနိတ် ၄:၁၆-၁၇)
(၁၅) နောက်ဆုံးတရားစီရင်ခြင်း
ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် တရားစီရင်ခြင်း နှစ်မျိုးရှိကြောင်း ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။
(၁) ယုံကြည်သူများအတွက် ခရစ်တော်၏ တရားပလ္လင် (Judgment Seat of Christ) — ဆုလာဘ်များကို အကဲဖြတ်ရန်
(၂) မယုံကြည်သူများအတွက် အဖြူရောင်ပလ္လင်ကြီး တရားစီရင်ခြင်း (Great White Throne Judgment) — ထာဝရအဆုံးအဖြတ်ကို ချမှတ်ရန် (၂ ကောရိန္သု ၅:၁၀၊ ရောမ ၁၄:၁၀၊ ဗျာဒိတ် ၂၀:၁၁-၁၅)
(၁၆) အိမ်ထောင်ရေးနှင့်လူ့လိင်ဆန္ဒ
ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ ဖန်ဆင်းခြင်းအရ အိမ်ထောင်ရေးသည် တစ်ယောက်တည်းသော ယောက်ျားနှင့် တစ်ယောက်တည်းသော မိန်းမအကြား တစ်သက်တာတစ်ကိုယ်တည်း ပေါင်းသင်းမှု ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။ လူ့လိင်စိတ်ဆန္ဒသည် သန့်ရှင်းသော လက်ဆောင်တစ်ခုဖြစ်ပြီး ဤပဋိညာဉ်ဆက်ဆံရေးအတွင်း၌သာ ထုတ်ဖော်သင့်သည်ဟု ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။ (ကမ္ဘာဦး ၂:၂၁-၂၄၊ မဿဲ ၁၉:၅၊ မာကု ၁၀:၇၊ ဧဖက် ၅:၃၁)
(၁၇) လူ့အသက်၏ မြင့်မြတ်မှု
လူ့ဘ၀သည် သန္ဓေတည်ချိန်မှ ၎င်း၏သဘာဝအဆုံးတိုင်အောင် မြင့်မြတ်သည်ဟု ကျွန်ုပ်တို့ယုံကြည်ပါသည်။ ( ဆာ၊ ၁၃၉း၁၃ ၊ ဟေရှာ၊ ၅၉း၁ ၊ ယေရမိ၊ ၁း၅ /။
(၁၈) ဘုရားသခင်၏ ကျား-မ နှင့်အမှတ်အသားဖန်ဆင်းမှု
ဘုရားသခင်သည် လူတိုင်းကို အံ့ဩဖွယ်ကောင်းစွာ ပြောင်းလဲ၍မရသော (immutable) ပုံစံဖြင့် ကျား သို့မဟုတ် 'မ' အဖြစ် ဖန်ဆင်းတော်မူကြောင်း ကျွန်ပ်တို့ ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။ မိမိ၏ ဇီဝဗေဒအရ ကျား/မ အမှတ်အသားကို ငြင်းပယ်ခြင်းသည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ ကောင်းမြတ်သော ဖန်ဆင်းခြင်းနှင့် ဖန်ဆင်းရှင်၏ ရည်ရွယ်ချက်ကို ငြင်းပယ်ခြင်း ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ (ကမ္ဘာဦး ၁:၂၆-၂၇၊ မာကု ၁၀:၆၊ ၁ ကောရိန္သု ၆:၉၊ တရားဟောရာ ၂၂:၅)
(၁၉) ကြီးမြတ်သော အမိန့်တော် (The Great Commission)
ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ယုံကြည်သူတိုင်း ဘုရားသခင်၏ ဘုန်းတော်ကိုထင်ရှားစေဖို့ သန့်ရှင်းသော အသက်တာဖြင့် နေထိုင်ရန်နှင့် ယေရှုခရစ်တော်၏ ကယ်တင်ခြင်းဧဝံဂေလိတရားကို လူမျိုးအပေါင်းတို့အား ဟောပြောရန် ခေါ်တော်မူခြင်း ခံရသည်ဟု ယုံကြည်ကြပါသည်။ (မဿဲ ၂၈:၁၉-၂၀၊ တမန်တော် ၁:၈)
ဤသစ္စာတရားများသည် ကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ ယုံကြည်ခြင်း၊ သွန်သင်ခြင်းနှင့် အသင်းတော်မိသားစုအဖြစ် အတူယှဉ်တွဲနေထိုင်ခြင်း၏ အခြေခံအုတ်မြစ် ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ဤအချက်များကို ဝမ်းမြောက်စွာ အတည်ပြုပါသည်။
